We look forward to having you join us for one of our upcoming Community Hikes. We encourage hikers of all ages to come find a connection, appreciate the beautiful land that we hike on, and get moving!
Saturday, June 18th, 10:00am | Starting at St Thomas (Alton) -
The Richmond Historical Society is joining us for Community Hike on Saturday, June 18 at 10 am to the gravesite of Elder Daniel Davis. Daniel Davis was an enslaved man who escaped from Maryland and came to RI around 1865. He became an ordained minister and preached at St. Thomas' when it was a non-denominational church in the late 1800s. He is buried in a family plot that is about a mile behind the church. All are welcome. The hike starts at St. Thomas in Alton.
July & August Hikes coming soon!
Please note that we are hiking on public hiking trails (many owned and maintained by local Land Trusts) and there are very likely to be other hikers at the same time as our Community Hikes. Please be respectful of the land we are hiking on and other hikers who are using these spaces as well. Please acknowledge that while attending a community hike you are hiking at your own risk and we encourage all hikers to wear closed toe shoes and to be careful when navigating around rocks and roots.
